Öhlins shock XT-660 Z Tenere without reservoir

ÖHLINS now also offer a budget-priced shock for the XT-660 Z Tenere.

Using a single tube design, the shock for the 660 Tenere has a 46mm piston and take full advantage of this monotube design, which uses an internal gas reservoir in the main body to deliver very good damping performance. Unlike so many original equipment suspension components, the Öhlins products feature external 30-fold rebound adjustment and also the possibility to adjust the preload.

All ÖHLINS shocks are custom made for each bike and each driver. That means, that you have to wait a little bit, till you get YOUR Öhlins shock. But normally not longer than about 6-8 days. The set up for each shock, the damping and rebound as well as the springs are tested on and off-road ti get the best results. They are the results of true tests with your bike and no guesswork!

This ÖHLINS shocks work with the "de Carbon" concept. This shock is a high pressure monotube type. The fluid is put under gas pressure and the gas and the fluid are kept apart by a separating piston. The piston is fitted in an external reservoir, connected by a hose. This will give you the advantage of stabil suspension work even in the worst conditions.

The essential distinctions of this new Öhlins shock without external reservoir and the higher prices version are the missing outer reservoir and the missing compression adjustment. Also the travel of this shock unfortunatelly is about 35mm less compared to the stock Yamaha shock!
This budget Öhlins shock is our recommendation for all Tenere driver who use the bike on tarmac or flat roads most times and who rarely go off-road.
For real off-road use or the 'big tour' with a lot of luggage and/or passenger the higher priced Öhlins shock is still first choice!!!
