The frame parts above the footrests are quickly damaged by dirt and sand, especially in off-road use. The boots virtually grind the paint off the frame with the help of dust and sand. The swingarm bearings holes are also open and unprotected in the frame. Dirt can quickly accumulate here. The Acerbis frame protectors cover the swingarm bearing openings and also protect the frame from abrasion by the boots.
Additionally the rear brake cylinder and footpeg mounting brackets are protected.
The rubber coating on the upper side of the protectors also provides better grip for the boots and thus safer vehicle control.
