Cobrra Nemo2 Chain Lubrication System
Cobrra Nemo2 Manuel Chain Lubrication System
The biggest drawback of riding a chain-driven motorcycle is chain maintenance. A lot big bikes like Yamaha XT1200 Super Tenere have maintenance free driveshafts. With full disclosure, most of us admit to be terrible at chain maintenance. Most of us don’t clean nor lubricate the chain on our bikes enough. As a result, over the years too many of the chains have seen premature deaths due to our negligence.
Not anymore.
Thanks to the Nemo 2 automatic chain lubrication system by Cobrra, you can rest easy and truly ride free.
With just a simple quarter twist of the dial on my Nemo 2, you send oil directly to the chain when it needs it. You can do this every 200-300km depending on riding conditions. You decide, not an electronic or a "dump" vacuum driven system. Just twist more frequently in dirt or wet weather, and less frequently on well paved roads.
Even more, the Nemo 2 is clean and convenient. Unlike most chain oilers that are either gravity or electronically fed, Nemo 2 uses a pressurized system. The twist of the reservoir dial puts pressure in the line which forces the oil to the chain for several minutes. Then it stops. No greasy oily mess and a perfectly happy and lubricated chain. The Nemo 2 is designed by the braniacs (and riders) at Cobrra - a small company dedicated to designing and manufacturing quality products. Anyone who isn’t consistent with their chain lubrication (and that’s most everybody) should get their hands on a Cobrra Nemo 2. Some call it the "best chain oiler avaiable".
With the Nemo there’s no requirement to run a vacuum tube from the carb or fuel injectors to the reservoir, and there’s no complicated electrical connections.

Instead the Nemo works with a simple twist of the upper reservoir - a 1/4 turn delivers a measured amount of lube to the chain for the next 3 minutes. The lube gets deposited in front of the rear sprocket, then it self-distributes onto the rollers, side plates, and sprocket teeth. Your chain and sprockets will last longer when they’re properly lubed.
The Nemo is small enough to fit in your hand. Don’t let the size fool you, it’ll keep the chain lubed for a long, long time. Refilling is quick and easy. Nemo holds about 30ml of chain lube which is enough for a weekend ride (or in our case a 5-day ride in the hills). When the reservoir is empty, simply unscrew the cap and fill it up, then tighten the cap and you’re ready to roll (and lube).
All components are precision billet aluminum with a black anodized finish. The fit and finish are superb. Mounted on the motorcycle it looks like an OEM part.
You can mount the Nemo anywhere on the bike. Nemo literature shows it mounted on the handlebars… But for adventure bikes we liked mounting it down low. In that position we were able to reach down and give the chain a quick lube after we rode thru a creek crossing or mud puddle.
