Now that you’re the proud owner of a Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z/ZE - or maybe have one on order - you want crash bars to protect it. Ours are built from one inch stainless steel so they're extremely resistant to rust, and feature beautiful hand TIG welds. In designing these crash bars, we went through the trouble of maintaining the hidden connector in the front to yield a seamless system. Why is that important? It means the energy of a hard impact on one side can be transferred throughout the bars and to the other side. The three mounts on one side don’t have to take an entire impact load: instead, it is distributed across six mount mounts so none of them are overwhelmed. All of this is important because the crash bars will not only protect the fairing in the case of a crash, but also the Super Tenere’s exposed radiator. We also conducted a thorough study to identify the bike’s contact points when on its side. This led to a crash bar design that offers a wide contact area between the crash bars and the ground. The other contact points will be the handlebar bar ends, and rear passenger peg - protecting the fairing, engine, radiator, and brake and shifter lever. The crash bars allow full removal of the right-hand side panel. Because the left-hand side panel only requires periodic removal, the bars were not designed to allow removal of the panel. The AltRider Luggage Rack for the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z is greatly improved over the stock version making it one the first parts you’ll want to install on your new adventure bike. Designed strong for on or off road riding adventures, it’s made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) aluminum and features side flanges for added rigidity and mounting points, as well as a completely redesigned bracket. This design also allows the luggage rack to be run in the low position (without pillion seat or grab handles). It uses the same hardware, so there is nothing to lose. The AltRider Luggage Rack comes with a mounting bracket, made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) aluminum, which replaces the stock plastic mounting bracket and greatly increases the rack’s capacity. Between the bracket and rack we created a cubby that is 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) x 6 inches (15.2 cm) x 3 inches (7.6 cm). The cut-out pattern is perfect for creating a door with a bungee cord or ROK straps, making it a perfect glove box to stuff items in without the need to secure them. Tractive Suspension X-TREME PDSII RALLY (225 mm) Long Travel shock Yamaha Tenere 700, black anodised Tractive Suspension has probably developed ta good shock for sporty use with the Yamaha Tenere 700. The shock absorber is exactly tailored to the needs of extreme long distance travelers trail riders. The shock absorber comes with longer stroke (+25 mm), so that the suspension travel increases from the original 200mm to a remarkable 230mm. Tracive Suspension uses the revolutionary PDS II Anti Bottoming system (Position-Dependent-Damping System) for these shocks. This is a hydraulic breakdown protection system. The heart of the system is a second damper piston, which effectively prevents breakthrough at the end of the suspension travel in the event of very strong compression, even with a high payload and/or passenger - the damping always works in relation to the travel. Especially during hard off-road use (jumping), during rallies or on extreme tours with high load, the PDS system is a very good feature to ensure the perfect function of the shock absorber even in critical situations. It effectivily is a cushion that absorbs the high ingoing energy and prevents a hard bottoming of the shock absorber. This leads to increased comfort and safety. At the same time the bottoming impacts on the motorbike frame are minimised, leading to less bent bolts and damages. Tractive Suspension X-TREME RALLY (230 mm) Closed-Cartridge Kit BLACK Yamaha Tenere 700, BLACK Edition Tractive offers an excellent suspension upgrade with an extra 30 mm of travel for the front fork of the Yamaha Tenere 700. Perfect for world travellers, hard off-road and Rally riders with heavily changing loads and higher speed in hard terrain. The special feature is the closed-cartridge with a 230 mm travel - this is 30 mm more than oem wheel travel (200 mm). In the Closed-Cartridge, oil and gas (nitrogen) are separated by a bladder, in a machined closed aluminium tube. This guarantees very constant and temperature independent absorption, preventing foaming and cavitation of the oil, to achieve consistent damping. The piston used is one of the largest available on the market. Compared to the original fork piston with 20 mm, Tracitive uses a huge 35 mm piston. This increases the area for the shims many times over - very high load capacity and precision in damping! The newly developed cartridge system delivers both: comfort and very good performance. In addition, generous service intervals are another advantage of the new development that should not be underestimated. The slim design of the Tractive Closed-Cartridge Kits allows the perfect installation in the fork of the Tenere 700, while the Tractive Suspension Kit is very easy to mount: Remove the standard fork and install the closed cartridge kit with little effort. This is simply exchanged against the inner workings of the original fork. No modifications to the fork are necessary. The triple clamps, brakes, wheel and axle remain intact! Thanks to the conversion, the fork is fully adjustable at the front fork after the conversion. Rebound and compression stages (20 clicks each) are located in separate fork legs. On both sides the spring preload can be added up to 10mm. With the new damping characteristics the bike simply has more to offer - it's the big change. More comfortable and much more precise work of the fork, thus adding a big secuitry for bottoming out. Different spring rates (5,6 N/mm, 6,0 N/mm, 6,4 N/mm, 6,8 N/mm and 7,2 N/mm) are available and guarantee the adaptation to individual weights. A hydraulic stop, the PDS, prevents the front fork from bottoming out in extreme situations. The cartridge kit improves both comfort and performance of the Tenere 700 significantly - especially with different load conditions with/without luggage and passenger. This is exactly what the modern Tenere 700 needs in order to guarantee a smooth ride on asphalt or gravel and a fast and accurate ride on small trails. Linear Uprated Shock Spring for Yamaha Tenere 700, white Most rider of the Tenere 700 will have found out that the OEM standard spring is too weak for "normal" rider weights. The spring oft the Kayaba shock has only 70 N/mm ex works. This spring rate is suitable for a rider with about 70 kg weight, not including additional load like luggage, accessories or passenger. With the original spring it's impossible to adjust to the correct bike sag if you have a weight more than ~70 kg with gear. Adventure bikes static sag should be about 10% of the suspension travel (200 mm / 10% = 20 mm) when the bike is unloaded The rider sag sould be about 30% of the overall suspension travel (200 mm / 30% = 66 mm) when the bike is loaded and ready to drive including rider. The above settings are guidelines only, and some riders may have better ‘feel’ and speed with alternative settings, also different setting might be used when riding different grounds like sands or rocks.. With the offered springs, which are available in different rates up to 95 N/mm, the adjustment of the correct sag for touring and Adventure use is no longer a problem - even when fully loaded. The integrated hydraulic spring preload of the oem shock allows to add 10 mm preload. This corresponds to an extra load of about 50-60 kg. Than can be extra luggage, a passenger or a heavier rider. For a 20 mm lowering, the selected spring rate should be about 10% higher, for 30 mm about 12% higher, for 40 mm about 15% higher and for 50 mm about 18% higher. For a 20 mm rising, the selected spring rate should be about 10% lower. E.g.: Rider weight "ready to ride" 90 kg, installed lowering 20 mm - spring rate to be selected 85 N/mm + 10% = 93.5 N/mm. In this case a 90 N/mm spring would be correct. In case of doubt, always choose the lower spring rate. Too much sag can always be compensated by a slightly higher preload. If the sag is too small when the spring preload is completely reduced (the spring rate is too high), this cannot be changed anymore. Than a spring with lower rate is needed
