This 2.50x17 Excel will allow you to choose from a much wider range of real off-road tyres compared to the oem 2.75x17" type.
On long distance travels you often find the most weak point of the OEM Yamaha XT660R wheels - the rim!
This EXCEL rims will solve this problem for sure!
The rims are manufactured with profiles made of aluminium of the 7000 series. The manufacturing process is supported by highly automated production lines and allows for the most extreme strain of sports driving. Made to the highest specifications, Excel rims have been a guarantee of the ultimate
in quality for many years. "Excel" stands for the new scales concerning hardness, solidity, corrosion resistence, and surface quality.
All rims are also avaiable for tubeless use. Please ask.
18" conversion Yamaha XT-660R:
- 2.50" x 17"
We use a slightly narrower rim at the rear, as the oem 2.75 inch size is very unusual. Furthermore, a wider rim is more prone to picking up ‘dents’ when used off-road.
2.50 inch rims are the standard size for off-road and rally use – almost all Dakar Rally motorbikes are fitted with them.
For an more off-road orientated use we recommend the 18" rim. This will give you more high speed stability, more ground clearance and a wider range of off-road tyres to choose.
