Yamaha XT-1200Z Super Tenere Ohlins Cartridge Kit FKA - Fork kit Adventure Road & Track   Cartridge upgrade for the Dual Sport and Adventure bikes. The Öhlins cartridge kits have now been made for the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere. Based on the successful Öhlins technology, we are proud to introduce Öhlins cartridge kits for this segment. Big sized adventure bikes used in their right element on true adventures both on and off the road can now enjoy the improved comfort and performance from an Öhlins cartridge kit. Öhlins R&D decided to go for a solution based on the successful Öhlins NIX technology to reach the goal of a cartridge that can deliver both comfort and performance, and go longer than an off-road kit between servicing. The small design of the cartridge kit makes it  fit easily in the upside down OE fork of the Super Tenere. The kits are easy to install, just pop out the OE kits and install the Öhlins cartridge kits instead.   Thanks to the FKA 106 kit from Öhlins the XT1200Z Super Tenere now has a fully adjustable front end. Rebound damping is on one leg and compression in the other leg, with adjustable spring preload in both legs. Together with an overall improved damping system, the bike is transformed and can deliver so much more. Different springs are available for riders individual demands as well as an effective hydraulic stop inside the kit to prevent bottoming. After tests we feel confident this cartridge kit improves the XT1200Z both in terms of comfort and overall performance. Fast gravel roads on a weekend or piloting around small trails to find the perfect stop for the night demands both comfort and performance. With this kit the bike delivers that. HYPERPRO Fork Springs Yamaha XT-1200Z Super Tenere 2010-2019 The coiling for the Tenere 700 is linear-progressive, that means that the progression increases continuously (linearly). Both the range and the extensive test programme using a computer-operated test-bench which simulates the hardest driving situations guarantee that, in combination with the series spring elements, you are driving the optimal solution for your Tenere ! HYPERPRO-Exchange Springs live up to their promise of being ingenious fork springs! HYPERPRO-Forksprings distinguish themselves by their continuous increase of the spring rate (Link-System Curve) in the whole range. They have been especially developed and tested for the Tenere. The manufacturing process has been made perfect: First-class, high-alloyed chrome-silicon-steel is used exclusivley. It is nearly tolerance freely coiled on computer-operated machines. The manufacturing is carried out according to DIN 2095. At the end, the outside of the springs is polished in order to achieve a minimal friction value. Of course, the forkspring sets are delivered with a ABE Certificate. The fork springs are delivered with 1 liter fork oil! Why progressive springs? · Using a linear, "normal" standard spring, all turns of the spring get loaded with the same weight at the same time. Imagine a spring with 10 turns at intervals of 1 cm - if you push the spring down 1 cm it shortens 1 cm, thus, the intervals between the single turns shorten to 0.9 cm. Using a two-step spring, half of the coils have a shorter interval. When the spring is compressed, the intervals shorten. At a certain point, the coils of the closer turns contact. · The spring "blocs" and stiffens. Now, only the turns with a greater interval keep working. The suspension comfort and the vehicle response drop rapidly. · Unfortunately, one needs more than 2 steps for driving because the powers occur progressively. That means, hardly any powers are needed to let the spring deflect. Though, the higher the power which affect the carriage, the more antagonising power of the spring. Complete set with oil seals and dust caps. These should be replaced at least every 2 years, depending on the riding performance, to ensure a perfect response of the fork. Due to aging or dirt on the fork tubes tubes, fork oil seals can be damaged. The result is a fork oil leakage at the damaged sealing rings. Leaking fork oil is very dangerous and should be avoided in time. Leaking fork oil attacks plastic, metal and painted surfaces, reduces a safe braking process when in contact with brake parts and causes unsafe grip losses on tires. For quality reasons, we only offer high quality shaft seals and dust caps with 3-fold sealing lip. · better breakaway torque and up to 3x less friction than OE Simmerrings · Patented Max-Life manufacture, which increases the life span by 3-4 times · fork seals have 3 sealing lips · Dust caps are coated with a special grease to improve the response Our Tip: Use only for your bike recommended fork oil and mount the seals with a little grease on the sealing lip. Clean the fork tube with chrome polish before mounting new seals. If the fork tubes is damaged with pitting (uneven surface) replace it. An uneven surface may damage the seals quick. Clean fork tubes regularly and grease with Teflon spray.
