Tractive Suspension X-TREME PRO PDS II shock Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid and Extreme, black - for extreme hard off-road and Rally use.   Pol Tarres uses exactly this shock in his World Raid Tenere 700 build!   The new X-TREME PRO shock is a further improvement for riders who mainly ride hard off-road or compete in rally’s and require more damping and bottoming resistance.   The X-TREME PRO shock has an improved bumpstop, black protector sleeve made from POM instead of rubber, replaced O-ring from bearing seal to greased off-road seal to keep dirt away, a new damping setup, modified High- and Low Speed compression setting,  including a revised PDS Shim stack for more bottoming safety, modified the shimstack on the main piston (MX set-up).   Tracive Suspension uses the revolutionary PDS(II) system (Position-Dependent-Damping System) for these shocks. This is a hydraulic breakdown protection system. The heart of the system is a second damper piston, which effectively prevents breakthrough at the end of the suspension travel in the event of very strong compression, even with a high payload and/or passenger - the damping always works in relation to the travel. Especially during hard off-road use (jumping), during rallies or on extreme tours with high load, the PDS system is a very good feature to ensure the perfect function of the shock absorber even in critical situations. It effectivily is a cushion that absorbs the high ingoing energy and prevents a hard bottoming of the shock absorber. This leads to increased comfort and safety. At the same time the bottoming impacts on the motorbike frame are minimised, leading to less bent bolts and damages.   Tractive Suspension utilizes only the best materials, top suppliers and highest available technologies in all of the Suspension Products. Even though operating pressures and temperatures in motorcycles are moderate when compared to a car or truck, there are some specific factors to be considered. Enduro or Adventure bike forks are the most demanding applications due to a long stroke, high speed and contaminated operating conditions. In addition, there are special dust protection requirements due to the exposed position of the fork and the absence of protective bellows. In these applications the rider is in direct contact with the front suspension via the handlebars. Therefore, the smoothness of fork movement is vital, as it has a considerable impact on steering behavior. SKF seal kits for motorcycle forks consist of an oil seal and a wiper seal developed to achieve superior sealing performance without stiction. As a result of SKF’s extensive experience in the design and material development of seals for suspension systems, SKF has developed a new self-lubricating compound. Clean the fork tube with chrome polish before mounting new seals. If the fork tubes is damaged with pitting (uneven surface) replace it. An uneven surface may damage the seals quick. Clean fork tubes regularly and grease with Teflon spray.

Linear Uprated Shock Spring for Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid in black colour. Most rider of the Tenere 700 World Raid will have found out that the OEM standard spring is too weak for "normal" rider weights. The spring oft the Kayaba shock has only 70 N/mm ex works. This spring rate is suitable for a rider with about 70 kg weight, not including additional load like luggage, accessories or passenger.   With the original spring it's impossible to adjust to the correct bike sag if you have a weight more than ~70 kg with gear. Adventure bikes static sag should be about 10% of the suspension travel (230 mm / 10% = 23 mm) when the bike is unloaded The rider sag sould be about 30% of the overall suspension travel (230 mm / 30% = 70 mm) when the bike is loaded and ready to drive including rider. The above settings are guidelines only, and some riders may have better ‘feel’ and speed with alternative settings, also different setting might be used when riding different grounds like sands or rocks..   With the offered springs, which are available in different rates up to 95 N/mm, the adjustment of the correct sag for touring and Adventure use is no longer a problem - even when fully loaded. The integrated hydraulic spring preload of the oem shock allows to add 10 mm preload. This corresponds to an extra load of about 50-60 kg. For a 20 mm lowering, the selected spring rate should be about 10% higher, for 30 mm about 12% higher, for 40 mm about 15% higher and for 50 mm about 18% higher. E.g.: Rider weight "ready to ride" 90 kg, installed lowering 20 mm - spring rate to be selected 85 N/mm + 10% = 93.5 N/mm. In this case a 90 N/mm spring would be correct. In case of doubt, always choose the lower spring rate. Too much sag can always be compensated by a slightly higher preload. If the sag is too small when the spring preload is completely reduced (the spring rate is too high), this cannot be changed anymore. Than a spring with lower rate is needed
