Fork dust cap/oil seal SKF Yamaha Tenere 700, Dual Compound

SKF has developed a new fork seal and dirt wiper for motocross and enduro forks, consisting of two different materials to improve the sealing function and at the same time reduce friction.

With more than 10 years of experience in the production of fork seals, SKF now combines two different compounds of rubber material.

In addition, the geometry of the sealing lips has been improved and a spring ring with a wide winding has been fitted to the dirt wiper so that dirt no longer sticks to it so tightly.

As a result of SKF's extensive experience in the design and material development of seals for suspension systems, SKF has developed a this self-lubricating compound. The design and performance characteristics of the seals made from this compound enable them to keep oil in and contaminants out of the fork, while virtually eliminating stiction and improving performance by reducing friction.

The oil and wiper seals, which are made from two different, new self-lubricating compound, have been specially designed to provide the following benefits:

improved dirt removal thanks to the green rubber
reduced friction of the dirt push-off due to improved geometry of the sealing lip
improved sealing due to the red rubber in the oil seal on the oil side
reduced friction in the radial shaft seal due to the green rubber on the dirt push-off
less friction (approx. -20%) compared to conventional sealing rings
use of a self-lubricating material
increase seal life and performance
enhance water and dirt protection capability and withstand UV light
maintain low and constant friction in operation
reduce wear and air suction
kit contains 1 dust- and 1 oil seal for 1 fork tube

Note: Each SKF seal kit includes 1 oil seal + 1 dust seal. To rebuild both forks you need to order 2 seal kits.

Our Tip:

Use only for your bike recommended fork oil and mount the seals with a little grease on the sealing lip. Clean the fork tube with chrome polish before mounting new seals. If the fork tubes is damaged with pitting (uneven surface) replace it. An uneven surface may damage the seals quick. Clean fork tubes regularly and grease with Teflon spray.
